A support group for breastfeeding families. The informal group provides interaction as well as individual assistance when needed. Women wanting more information about breastfeeding are also welcome. WCGH Postpartum Support Group

The postpartum support group was created by a group of women and moms, who have gone through challenging postpartum experiences themselves and/or have been educated on postpartum experiences. We offer a safe place for new and pregnant mothers and families to talk listen, get support and gain education on postpartum experiences. This is a free group for moms, moms-to-be and family members who want to connect with others for support. The group meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. WCGH Breastfeeding Support Group

This group offers breastfeeding support and guidance to breastfeeding mothers. Our certified lactation consultants and certified lactation counselors will lead breastfeeding topics such as the early weeks, fussy babies, common problems and solutions, going back to work, nutrition and long term breastfeeding success. The support group meets weekly on Mondays from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Due to the changes in PBMC/WCGH’s visitor guidelines, we are temporarily offering this support group online. Celebrating Birth ~ Childbirth Preparation

Being prepared for childbirth can ease your mind and make your birth experience what you hope it will be. This class will give you the information, resources and skills to prepare you for the birth of your baby.

This class will cover:

  • Anatomy and physiology of the birth process
  • Stages of labor
  • Pain management & control options
  • Positions to labor in
  • Breathing 
  • Positive thinking
  • A tour of the Birthing Suite

Expecting mother/couple should be in their last trimester. Class fee is per couple. When checking out, please don't add your support person as an additional attendee, only enter their name when asked.

 

Big Brother/Big Sister Class

Big Brothers or Big Sisters can have an opportunity for special time with Mom or Dad before their new baby arrives. This class includes:

  • Role play with their own special doll/stuffed animal you bring from home
  • Watch a movie about being a big sibling
  • Have story time 
  • Take a "field trip" to the Birthing Suite to see where Mom will be once the new baby arrives

This class will last exactly ONE hour. Recommended for Children ages 3 to 7. Mom should be in her last trimester. Class FEE is per family. When checking out, please do not add your children as attendees.

  • Infant self-attachment and the breast crawl, sudden postnatal collapse of the newborn, and updates on safe sleep
