Perinatal Support Group
with Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital Events
We offer a safe place for new and pregnant mothers and families to talk, listen, get support and gain education on postpartum experiences. This is a free group for moms, moms-to-be and family members who want to connect with others for support. Registration is encouraged, but drop-ins are welcome. Please call 505-4140 for more information or to register.
This group will be held in the Teleconference Room, located on the ground floor of Waldo County General Hospital. Please park at the back of the building and enter through the Ludwig Building entrance.
Parkinson's Disease Support Group

The Parkinson’s Support Group is for people with Parkinson’s disease, their families, friends, and caregivers.

Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention

Tai Chi is a low-impact exercise that is easy on the joints and good for your whole body. Join instructor Adrienne Gallant, certified in Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention, for this six-session beginner-level class to increase your strength, flexibility, balance and overall sense of well-being. No previous Tai Chi experience necessary.

Advanced Care Planning Workshop
with Vikki Webster, Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital Events
Advance care planning is an organized process of reflecting upon and discussing goals for future health care decisions. It is an important part of creating an advance directive, which is a written plan that represents your individual preferences and tells others what medical care you want or do not want to receive if you become too ill in the future to tell them.
Join trained advance care planning facilitator Vikki Webster for this workshop at the Vose Library in Union where you will begin the process of filling out your advance directive. Registration is optional; walk-ins welcome.
Gentle Birth - Virtual
with Dawn Tassi, Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital Events
Enjoy a new approach to child birth class combining brain science, birth science and technology to empower your positive birth through preparation. This class takes place over a series of three Tuesdays and will include training and education in mindfulness, hypnosis, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and sports psychology. A mobile app will also be able available if desired to enhance the learning experience.

Breastfeeding Basics - Virtual

This single two-hour class provides a pre-birth opportunity to ask questions and learn about breastfeeding and returning to work.

Infant Care Basics
with Erin Kirkpatrick, Mid Coast Maternity
In this 3 hour virtual course, we talk about how to care for your newborn when you bring them home, what to expect during the first few months, and how to be well prepared. Topics include:
- Sleep habits
- Laying a strong sleep foundation
- Bottle and formula feeding (separate breastfeeding class)
- Diapering & Digestion
- Soothing techniques
- Safety Guidelines
- Common ailments
- Postpartum Coping and Preparation
We recommend taking this between 30-35 weeks if possible. Only one parent needs to register, but all can attend. Please join us to build your confidence in caring for your newborn!
You will receive an email from the instructor with a zoom link 1 week prior to the scheduled class.

Pumping Milk at Work
with Erin Kirkpatrick, Mid Coast Maternity
This virtual session allows you to discuss how your feeding journey has gone so far and how you would like it to go moving forward. The topics include:
- Pump/flange education
- Setting up a pumping schedule at work
- Conversations to have with your childcare provider
- Bottle feeding
- Building up a milk stash
- Maintaining a milk supply
- Helpful products and resources
